Secondary 1 Camp
Secondary 1 Camp
Our Secondary 1 CCKSians recently embarked on an exhilarating outdoor adventure at Siloso Beach, Sentosa, marking a significant milestone in their transition to secondary school life. Under the bright sun and against the backdrop of the sea, our CCKSians stepped out of their comfort zones to embrace a series of challenges designed to build character and foster lasting friendships. The camp provided a vibrant platform for CCKSians to demonstrate their future-ready mindsets, turning every activity into a meaningful lesson in personal growth and teamwork.
One of the most foundational experiences of the camp was learning to pitch a tent together. Our CCKSians worked in small groups to assemble their shelters, a task that required clear communication and a healthy dose of enterprise. As they navigated the complexities of poles and canvas, they learned that seizing the opportunity to lead and collaborate is essential for success. This hands-on activity not only tested their coordination but also reinforced the value of resilience as they persevered through initial setbacks to ensure their temporary homes were sturdy and secure.
The spirit of adventure continued as our CCKSians continued to worked together to build rafts from scratch. This activity required immense cooperation and integrity as groups followed instructions carefully to ensure their rafts were sea-worthy. On land, our CCKSians explored the diverse landscape of Sentosa through an orienteering activity. This challenged their problem-solving skills and encouraged them to act responsibly as they navigated unfamiliar terrain. During field cooking sessions, our CCKSians also practiced the value of care, looking out for one another’s needs and sharing responsibilities to prepare their own meals. These moments highlighted our mission to provide a positive environment where every CCKSian feels empowered to thrive.
As the sun set, the campfire became the heart of the camping experience. It was a time of joyous celebration where students and teachers bonded over performances and shared stories. This gathering reflected the inclusive culture of our school, allowing CCKSians to show respect for their peers' contributions while building a sense of belonging. The warmth of the fire mirrored the growing sense of community, proving that being ethical and compassionate goes hand in hand with having fun.
By the end of the camp, our Secondary 1 CCKSIans returned home with more than just sandy shoes and sun-kissed faces. They carried with them a renewed sense of agency and a deeper understanding of our school values. Having navigated the challenges of Siloso Beach together, they are now better equipped as adaptable individuals ready to seek new opportunities for growth. We are proud of the resilience and kindness they displayed, and we look forward to seeing them continue to contribute positively to our school community.
