PE Department Direction

The CCKSS’ Physical Education (PE) and Sports CCA Programme aspires to build an active and vibrant sports community with a strong desire to pursue a healthy lifestyle.

Goals of Physical Education:

Equip students with the knowledge, skills and desire to maintain lifelong physical, mental and social health.
Develop students in psychomotor skills and an understanding of the various aspects of sports such as participation, umpiring and organising sports activities.
Inculcate in students the desired sportsmanship values of respect, excellence and friendship.
Provide inclusive opportunities for all students in physical activities.
Educate students in making wise choices towards healthy eating.

Curriculum

Games - Football, Basketball, Ultimate Frisbee, Floorball, Badminton, Softball, Tchoukball
Fitness testing (NAPFA, Beep Test, X-Fit), Outdoor Education, Physical Health and Fitness and Inter class competitions

Outdoor Education	Sec 1, 2, 3	Develop connections with the environment and the responsibility to safeguard it, thereby facilitating a lifelong pursuit of outdoor physical recreation.
Outward Bound Singapore (OBS)	Sec 3	Through this course, students will learn to: manage challenges through self-directed learning and make informed choices; and appreciate the natural heritage of Singapore and recognise that everyone plays a part appreciate the natural heritage of Singapore and recognise that everyone plays a part.
School Sports Event (e.g. Sports Challenge)	All	By the end of the programme/activity, participants will be able to: Promote Physical Fitness and Mental Fitness through participation in various sports, physical activities and mind games. Foster Teamwork and Collaboration through working together as a pair or team in competing against other classes. Cultivate Sportsmanship through the emphasis on the values of fair play, respect for opponents and graciousness in victory or defeat.
