At Chua Chu Kang Secondary School (CCKSS), the Mathematics Department is committed to cultivating passionate, lifelong learners of mathematics. We believe that mathematics is not just about numbers—it’s a way of thinking critically, solving real-world problems, and exploring the world around us. Our vision is to inspire every student to appreciate the beauty of math and empower them to approach challenges with confidence and curiosity.

To bring this vision to life, our educators use the Making Thinking Visible approach, encouraging students to actively engage with their learning, reflect on their thought processes, and connect mathematical concepts to everyday situations. This approach ensures that our lessons are not only engaging but also relevant and meaningful, helping students see the practical applications of math in the world.

We offer a range of enrichment programs that extend learning beyond the classroom. Students have the opportunity to visit the Science Centre, where they can engage with interactive exhibits, or participate in our annual Math Fiesta, an event that combines fun challenges with hands-on learning. For students with a keen interest and aptitude in mathematics, we encourage participation in a variety of math competitions, allowing them to test their skills and push their limits.

Recognizing that every student learns at their own pace, we also offer an Academic Support Program for those who may need additional help. This program provides personalized support and guidance to help students build confidence, strengthen their understanding of core concepts, and succeed in their studies.
