Home-Based Learning (HBL) Guide for Students (S1–S5) – 2026
This guide provides important information on Home-Based Learning (HBL) for all Secondary 1 to Secondary 5 students in 2026. Please read it carefully to understand expectations, schedules, submission requirements, and support channels.

2. Structure of Home-Based Learning
HBL consists of two components:

3. General Flow of an HBL Day
Before 8.00 a.m.

Wake up early and prepare for the day

Have your breakfast
8.00 a.m. – 8.30 a.m.
Refer to the HBL timetable

Check against the Digital Homework Board in Google Classroom

Organise your study space and prepare lesson materials
After 8.30 a.m.

Begin self-directed learning according to your timetable
4. Assignment Submission & Expectations
Submission Deadlines

All HBL assignments must be submitted by 3.30 p.m. on the HBL day

Secondary 1 (Term 1 only):

Submission deadline is 3.30 p.m. on the following school day

Monitoring & Consequences
Submission of HBL assignments is closely monitored.
Failure to submit assignments may result in:

Detention, based on the number of assignments not submitted

Mandatory attendance of all remaining HBL sessions in school

Stoppage of privileges, such as awards or celebrations
5. Important SLS (Student Learning Space) Information
For an SLS assignment to be recorded as complete, students must ensure that:

You click “Mark Activity as Complete” (see below image)
-
You interact with and complete every activity (e.g. watch all videos)
-
Skipping activities will result in the assignment not being recorded

An assignment is only considered completed when the status shows “COMPLETE”
-
Assignment deadlines are set at 3.30 p.m.

Any overdue submission in SLS or Google Classroom will be flagged as non-submission
