HARI RAYA CELEBRATIONS 2016
Our school held a concert to celebrate Hari Raya on the 1st of July. This year’s concert was an elaborate affair involving a variety of traditional performances. Our students put up a ‘Silat’ performance - a Southeast Asian martial art often performed to musical accompaniment as a ceremonial display. Students also performed the ‘dikir barat’, a traditional Malay musical performance which involves a band of singers performing in a seated position to drum beats. Everyone basked in the festive mood, ending the performance on a high note.
