Netball, a challenging game played amongst girls, has remained as a popular sport CCA among our female students. Over the years, many batches of primary six students are keen to join the sport with limited or no prior knowledge. They would undergo a selection trial where they would be tested for agility and resilience. Through the training programme, the girls emerge as a united team with strong emphasis on teamwork and communication within themselves.
Activities and Achievements
Besides the court strategies, regular physical and fitness training, our students are also given the opportunity to upgrade their scoring and umpiring skills through professional workshops by the Netball Singapore. Students who have successfully graduated from the programme will be certified the Level 1 Umpire Award that paves the way for students to umpire official games.
Students are given opportunities to maximize their potential as a player and as a leader. Both ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams compete in the West Zone Tournament annually, and participate in friendly matches with other schools, such as Tanglin Secondary School and NUS High School.
The students actively got involved in netball carnivals and events throughout the year, such as the Ulu Pandan Street Netball. Students are also exposed to Values-in-Actions (ViA) such as litter picking by the beach.
